Does OZONOS only clean the air?

No. Unlike conventional air purifiers that only treat the air passing through the device, OZONOS releases active oxygen into the room.It circulates throughout the space, acting on airborne contaminants and also reaching contaminants deposited on surfaces such as furniture, floors and walls. Independent HygCen testing confirmed the effectiveness of this principle on surface-bound viruses under defined test conditions.Once the active oxygen has reacted, it naturally converts back into oxygen — without leaving chemical residues.That is the fundamental difference: OZONOS doesn’t wait for contaminated air to reach the device. It takes the cleaning effect into the room.

Where should I place my OZONOS?

Ideally around 2 metres above the floor. This positioning supports optimal air circulation and allows OZONOS to distribute its active air-cleaning effect throughout the room. Avoid placing the unit directly next to an exhaust vent.

Yes. OZONOS is specifically designed for use in occupied spaces. It generates only a small, controlled amount of ozone using patented UV-C technology. AC I and AC II are TÜV SÜD certified, and OZONOS states that its systems can be used in the presence of people, children and pets.

Concentration matters. Ozone occurs naturally in the environment. OZONOS generates it in precisely controlled concentrations designed for everyday indoor use. For example, AC II SMART Standard is specified at 0.048 ppm.The ozone reacts with suitable molecules through oxidation and subsequently breaks back down into oxygen (O₂).

No. Conventional ozone generators can produce very high ozone concentrations and are generally not intended for use while people remain in the room.OZONOS uses UV-C light to produce a small, controlled amount of ozone and, according to the manufacturer, does not generate the harmful nitrogen-oxide by-products associated with corona-discharge ozone generators.

Yes. OZONOS is designed for use in occupied indoor spaces. AC II SMART Standard is suitable for continuous operation in rooms up to 25 m². AC II SMART PRO is designed for larger spaces up to 50 m² and more intensive applications.For very small, unventilated rooms below 4 m², OZONOS recommends limiting continuous AC II SMART PRO operation to eight hours or using the Standard version.

The UV-C lamp is the main wear component, with a service life of approximately 8,000–10,000 operating hours.Even when running 24/7, 10,000 hours equals more than a year of continuous operation. When used only as needed, many customers operate their OZONOS for several years before a lamp replacement is required — with many returning after around four years.
